Tellus regional stream water geochemistry: environmental and mineral exploration applications
نویسندگان
چکیده
Regional stream water geochemistry acquired as part of the Tellus programme in Ireland has been analysed to assess its potential for application environmental assessment and mineral exploration. Interpolated geochemical maps multivariate statistical analysis, including principal component analysis random forest classification, demonstrate broad geogenic control chemistry, with both bedrock subsoil contributing patterns observed. Surface regulations set Environmental Quality Standard values individual Priority Substances Specific Pollutants that may depend on background concentrations and/or hardness. The high resolution data their location low-order streams have allowed estimation hardness survey area, significant implications monitoring programmes. Anthropogenic inputs area come mainly from agricultural sources suggest few catchments are unaffected. Comparison sediment topsoil strong use exploration, same base metal gold pathfinder anomalies apparent all three sets. Cluster indicates metals associated organic matter but be employed distinguish mineralization-related signatures. Integration of Geology, Geophysics, Geochemistry and Imagery for Mineral Exploration Applications
Today’s geologists have unprecedented access to multi-disciplinary geoscientific data and information. The problem in this “dataand informationrich” environment lies in implementing efficient approaches for verifying and integrating all available data and information. Effective integration leads directly to increased success potential and reduced exploration risk. Data verification is particula...
متن کاملSensor Data Stream Exploration for Monitoring Applications
This paper presents StreamXPlore, a system that enables users to explore historical stream data in order to determine what events to monitor in the future. At the heart of StreamXPlore is a new event modeling mechanism. StreamXPlore enables the specification, analysis, and mining of these new types of events. Event analysis enables event refinement using data-cube-style slice, dice, drilldown, ...
متن کاملsimulation and experimental studies for prediction mineral scale formation in oil field during mixing of injection and formation water
abstract: mineral scaling in oil and gas production equipment is one of the most important problem that occurs while water injection and it has been recognized to be a major operational problem. the incompatibility between injected and formation waters may result in inorganic scale precipitation in the equipment and reservoir and then reduction of oil production rate and water injection rate. ...
2. Workshops: Summaries of discussions WORKSHOP 1" TILL GEOCHEMISTRY IN MINERAL EXPLORATION
The basic differences between the application of till geochemistry in Finland and Canada are that (1) there is far less integration of glacial geology and geochemical exploration in North America than in Finland and (2) the application of new glacial sedimentology models and examination of basic assumptions about the history and dynamics of Scandinavian ice sheets are less emphasized in Scandin...
